MEET OUR TEAM

Christina “Tina” Conway, MS

RESIDENT IN COUNSELING

BIO

Maybe you’ve been thinking about therapy for a while, but you’re not quite sure what you would say if you actually showed up. Maybe you know something feels off, but you can’t put your finger on exactly what. Or maybe you’re used to being the one who holds it together, keeps the peace, takes care of everyone else, and quietly wonders when it gets to be your turn.

You do not have to have it all figured out before we begin.

I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, ADHD, identity, complicated family relationships, life transitions, and questions about belonging. I’m especially drawn to people who have spent a lot of time adapting to everyone around them and are ready to better understand themselves, their relationships, and what they actually need.

If you’re new to therapy, I want you to know that I don’t expect you to walk in and immediately tell me the hardest thing that has ever happened to you. Trust takes time. We can talk, laugh, sit in silence, or start with, “I honestly don’t know where to begin.” That is enough.

I’m warm, easygoing, and observant, but I’m also direct. I’ll make room for you to move at your own pace, and I’ll also help you notice patterns, ask questions that matter, and gently challenge the things that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is not to tell you how to live your life. It is to help you understand yourself more clearly and feel more confident making choices that actually fit who you are.

My own experiences have shaped the way I show up in this work. I was adopted from Latvia as a young child, so questions of identity, attachment, family, and belonging carry personal meaning for me. I also began my career in substance use treatment and am a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, an experience that taught me how important it is to meet people without judgment while still being willing to have honest conversations.

Outside of work, I’m usually happiest with good coffee, my lab Harley, wandering a farmers’ market, or riding my motorcycle through the Blue Ridge Mountains. I love exploring somewhere new, especially when there wasn’t much of a plan to begin with.

If you’ve been waiting until things feel “bad enough” to reach out, you don’t have to.

Bring the messy version of yourself. I’ll meet you there, and we can figure out what comes next together.
